I'm turning off the computer now so I can go shopping for yellow pillows and a throw for my bed. Bright, crisp and lovely.

I'm not in love with the murals, but those beds look divine. I want one of bolster pillows!

As pricey as they were, I wish I'd bought a set of linens from DWR when they were available. I still see them in the catalogs and they look very sharp. I wish DWR would bring them back!

That was real fun hotel to stay at by the way. Ask for a room as far as posible from the Doug Fir Lounge, their restaurant/club. You'll be up until 4am otherwise, albeit with good music.

I think there should be a feature on 21c Museum/Hotel in Louisville...

They have a "get a room" rate after 2 am, too!

The Jupiter/Doug Fir is a great place to stay if you're visiting Portland on a budget.

The fuzzies in the first pic give me the willies. All that surface area, all that schmutz. The others are tolerable and will be outdated by spring, if they aren't already.

Does anyone know where those beds (or similar beds) can be found? I love the simplicity of them. They are perfect for me.

I love the particular forrest mural in that one room because the room seems to just keep going. The flower and the city murals can take the night off.

Sure, it's all fun and games until the furry blue things creep up on the bed and eat someone. It's obvious the photographer caught one of them after the fact while it was sliding down off the bed to hide underneath until it digests its hapless meal.

(Otherwise, a gorgeous space indeed!)

Cool! I've been to the Doug Fir (the restaurant/bar/music venue) many times for concerts but have never stayed at the Jupiter. (I don't live that far away from the Jupiter so "get a room" after a late-night concert really hasn't been an issue.) Nice to know that the hotel is as beautiful as the music I've heard next door!

Yes, the rooms are great looking and full of inspiration. Totally HIP. However, just a heads up, I wouldn't recommend staying there. Yes, the rooms are "budget", but when I stayed there the room reeked of plastic from the new shower curtain and you couldn't open the picture window, the towels had holes in them and we found panties under our bed as we were getting ready to check out (and they didn't belong to me or my gay boyfriend). Kind of gross.

I found Jupiter probably a 6/10. It was extremely noisy and the bedding/mattress was substandard. Great for a one-night stay but not any longer. I highly recommend Doug Fir though.

For the wall send me an email. We specialize in digital murals, james (at) stampededigital (dot) com.

I will reiterate the noise issue. I expected some noise, but drunk people talking loudly, music and random laughter eminating from the courtyard until 4 am on a weekday was a little more than this 30-something could handle. My experience was made worse by the lack of ear plugs. The front desk kept saying they did not have any. When I complained at check out, I was told that they actually had some!
When in Portland, the Ace is in a much better location and has better aesthetic (and bar).
By the way, all of the beds and side tables at Jupiter are from Blu Dot.
