In a small room, a papered accent wall can make a big statement that actually makes the room seem larger. Image of the Duc Duc showhouse bedroom from Cookie.

Use papers in bold colors with neutral furniture to avoid overwhelming the room. Image: I.E. Wallpaper from Urban Source.

If you're on a budget, DIY wallpaper is a possibility. Check out Jessica's post on How to Make a Dictionary (etc) Wall for instructions. Image: Bedroom by Ligne Roset.
Other Ideas:
• Frame wallpaper and use it as artwork in the room.
• Use wallpaper on a credenza or side table to dress up a piece of furniture.
• Wallpaper your closet to create an unexpected area of pattern.
Yikes, I LOVE the dictionary wall!!!
I use paper for my makeshift headboard--two rough-edged sheets of handmade paper with bamboo leaves pressed in. It makes me happy.

I wallpapered the major wall in our bedroom with a violet blue textured wallpaper with a branch pattern for something peaceful and soothing.

The wallpaper was also a great treatment for cheap bifold closet doors in the bedroom.

thanks munchkinchop,
the wallpaper is from graham and brown.
I learned that wallpaper can be expensive and time consuming. In my case, I lost a lot of wallpaper because of the pattern match. But I only did one wall and a couple of closet doors. I believe the end result though is worth more than what I paid for the paper.
Check out Target.com, I believe they have some cool wallpaper designs available.

Does anyone know who makes the wallpaper in the Duc Duc showroom nursery? I looked at Cookie and couldn't find a reference for it.

MHW - I don't know how you found it, but thanks for the link. There are some great installation shots as well as other wallpaper.
I really appreciate it - it's been driving me nuts. It's also in the real estate section of the NYT this weekend, too. Wonder if it's getting too popular...
