2006-07-28logo.jpg We are big fans of the Chicago Antique Market. We love this event and try to make it each month. It has it all: Shopping, snapping (pix), sipping, snacking and snooping (people watching). It is our favorite warm weather Sunday activity.

2006-07-28-market.jpgWe've blogged about it before, naturally. Here's our info on the season pass and here's a little slideshow from the May market. Today the time seemed right to officially add it to the shopping guide because the next one will be held this Sunday, July 30.

Hours are 8am - 4pm and admission is $10. Early bird shopping begins at 7am and admission is $30. There are plenty of vendors to keep you busy for a few hours so it is possible to make a full morning or afternoon of it. Stalls line up and down Randolph and fill the parking lot and audiotorium of the Plumbers Hall building on West Washington.

Prices vary from vendor to vendor and month to month, but we will say there are items in all price ranges. We've brought home a few small treasures over the years (the markets began in 2004) but if you snag a big one, home delivery is available.

Here is a list of current vendors and features.

Good luck hunting!

I love this market. Any AT'ers interested in meeting up to go this weekend?

Can't make it this weekend. I've never been to the market before, and I didn't want to go alone so I made it a mypeopleconnection.com event for August ! Maybe I will be able to find an inexpensive bombe-ish shaped dresser I've been searching for. I keep envisioning this one chest by Z Gallerie that was in a silver finish as inspiration ... Celebration Chest I think ? They no longer have it of course :(

i went to this for the first time in may and i have to say i was extremely disappointed. everything seemed ridiculously overpriced compared to other antique markets i've been to both here and in the atlanta area. and on top of that, the vendors were RUDE, openly mocking customers who didn't buy after inquiring about the price. i saw this happen several times throughout the day. i very much prefer wolff's flea market in rosemont - there's a lot of cheap crap there, but there are some real gems to be fount as well, and cheap - i've heard that that is where a lot of the chicago antique market sellers find their stuff.
