042706salvagelogo.jpg 0329salvage.jpg Salvage One states it simply: "For nearly 30 years Salvage One has been one of the largest purveyors of architectural elements and salvage in the world." Its endless range of salvaged goods serves an endless range of needs for architects, decorators, set designers, restaurant designers, collectors...you name it. We'd love to hear your thoughts if you've browsed or bought there lately, or if you attended last week's re:FAB Benefit for Chicago Architecture for Humanity.

I love this store. It has so many amazing things. A lot of the large items are out of my price range, but they have many small things that are interesting and affordable. It is a fun place to visit.

I love your business; design is my passion and I'd love to work in a business such as this. Do you have any openings? I can bring 6 years of design/sales related experience.

Currently I'm looking to break out of the larger corporate sector. They say 'do what you like' - well I'd love to, especially in a creative environment such as Salvage One.

I reside in Oak Park and would like to talk with you and submit my resume. If you're interested, I can be reached at 708-386-1260.

Thank you,

Great space and wonderful merchandise......little old lady who attacks customers upon entering can become annoying. Some customers may enjoy browsing, so leave the sales tactics behind and quit following your customers around the store !! It's bad for business!!!

Good luck consigning architectural pieces at Salvage One, you might as well offer your piece to a charity auction for a tax write off. I have been waiting months for a check that was sent out by a not so honorable owner. NOT RECOMMENDED

I am still waiting for a check from Jane Rodak but since I am out of state it is not likely that will happen. I thought about legally persuing a case but after doing some research I understand there are a countless number of consignors who have been stiffed and many legal battles in the works.....this place is a chop shop !!!! Please note the post above.

This place has fallen flat on its face in the past few years. A staff that doesn't have a clue what they are purchasing. Combine that with the horrible setups without any guidance or vision, how can a company waste so much space with horrible designs ? A dirty low end junk shop who has a thief for an owner. I remember the glory days on Sangamon when consignors were actually paid and treated with respect...now you can get on your knees and pray that check arrives in the mail after you realize your consignment pieces have sold. I have been given the run around when calling for months. I guess 34% of a sale isn't good enough. Do not consign your architectural antiques here unless you have time to chase you cash and the owner of this junk yard all over the city.
Consignor Beware,
Lindsey
