Shopping in Chicago: Sprout Home

Sprout Home is nestled in a great little nook of Wicker Park. Having personally trekked from the closest el stop down to this fabulous retailer, we have nothing but rave reviews for this little oasis just north of downtown and put it at the top of "If you visit Chicago, you simply must go" list. It's more than delightful to shop for plants, supplies and home decor in a place that doesn't have that icky smell of fertilizer like big box hardware stores. Click through to see what's new...

Sprout Home believes a modern aesthetic can live in both the home and garden and their store reflects just that. Inside feels like a lush, green oasis in the middle of the neighborhood as it was full to the brim with plants of all kinds and sizes. You'll also find hard-to-find home accessories, sustainable furniture and great gifts for all.

Within the next few months their outside boutique will fill in as the temperatures get warmer and warmer. It's sure to be overflowing soon with all kinds of green must-haves for your decks, porches and backyards (for those who are lucky enough). You can also find a wealth of knowledge pertaining to anything that grows from their highly informed and friendly staff.

That place looks awesome! I'll have to go check it out. My apartment definitely needs some new plants this Spring.

If we are getting technical, it isn't in Ukrainian Village either. The south east corner of Damen and Chicago is typically considered East Village. That being said, there are conflicting opinions about the southern border of East Village, some say Chicago some say Grand. So, we could call it the more general and government defined West Town or dispense with the technicalities all together...
