Found on Modern Craft, SusyJack* is a contemporary desktop line designed by Manhattan-based Susan Connor. Connor uses 100% post-consumer recycled paper to craft her simple, colorful desk supplies. We especially love the clothespin-style clips and the 2009 calendar...

I don't really get the point of having a cork-backed clip.
And I don't think these clips are "clothespin-style" --- they're actually clothespins.
Love the silver pencils though . . .

The cork is to keep it from sliding around on your desk when you press on it to open the clip, no?

Ah, of course. Thanks, carter76! I knew I must have been missing something.

Griffin,
That is correct. The cork serves not only to keep it from sliding, but to protect whatever you put it on from getting scratched. Kind of like you have a cork backing under a coaster.
The clips are real clothespins, yes. But the jumbo ones are bigger than a stick of butter and you can't use them for laundry. The smaller ones, which are made from real clothespins people don't seem to mind and actually love the reference to an everyday object. They are actually my best seller. :)
