We checked out the premier issue and found some interesting stories of modern mobile homes, including these shipping container art studios designed by UCSB professor Kim Yasuda and her sculpture students...
After the campus lost 20 art studios, Yasuda and her students began the Container Project, a search for new on-campus workspace models that could be translated into other types of studios and dwellings. To counteract the "corridor effect" commonly seen in shipping container spaces, Yasuda and her students joined two containers on an angle, creating a V-shaped studio, and punctured the facade with a pattern of asymmetrical windows. I've seen this project in person. It's a really great space and feels much larger than it's approximate 320 sq. ft. Kim and her students are really creative. I have a B.Arch and a Masters of Design Build and they put me to shame.

I'm not sure of the actual cost but check out the magazine www.umhmag.com and you can get some contact info- also info for great manufactured homes and mobile homes can be rehabbed these days with amazing results! it's absolutely astounding what is happening in creative housing these days-
