Sandy Chilewich, known for her woven floor coverings and placemats, has collaborated with Griffin to produce a case for the iPhone. The unique material, both flexible and durable, is a great choice for protecting your best friend, er, your iPhone.

Sandy Chilewich began her company in 1997 and, through her past success in the fashion and textiles industry, became interested in designing home accessories using unique materials. Woven vinyl, traditionally used in outdoor furniture, became a great success for Chilewich. For their full product line visit their website.

Chilewich iPhone Collection is available in Dark Gray or Light Gray and can be purchased at the Griffin website ($39.99), the Apple Store ($39.95) and the MoMA Design Store ($40.00 or $36.00 for members)

I just bought the one in " Lt. Grey" and it in no way lookis like the light one pictured.

$40 is too expensive for a plastic case that doesn't even include film protection for the glass face.

we have one and it's amazing. We followed the launch a few weeks ago and went into the apple store and they just received them in the back! so the kid brought one out and we LOVE IT!!! everyone should get one. Also, we fit it to th TOUCH and it fits, there are just a couple of unnecessary outlets, but it works fine :)

I received the Dark Gray as a gift about 6 weeks ago. It's really beautiful, but some of the stitching is already coming out near the ports.

Hmm...looking at the timing, though, if this is a very recent launch, I wonder if I was re-gifted a older promo one. Is there a way to remove the previous comment ?
