Close Encounters. When we covered Rick Lee and Collen Quen's Ouroboros event recently we were struck by the pod-like drama of Lee's Chin Chin Candlestand, which reminded us a little of the climactic arrival of the aliens in a certain old movie starring Richard Dreyfuss.

A reader asked about it as well, so we turned the question over to Joe Yang at the LeeQuen Atelier.

For those of you with $3,900 to spare, here's the answer. Chin Chin is a signed, limited edition creation, made from aluminum and glass. It can be ordered in a powder-coated or polished version. The pods (our descriptor) are height-adjustable and stand 60"- 96" tall. They come in a set of 9 and, "it takes about 12 weeks for the customer to get them because we do produce them by order only."
