When writing last week of leaving messages behind in old homes, we stumbled upon an interesting story of an unknown Chinese author. The writer covered every wall in an abandoned cottage in Chongqing, China with the words of their novel:
Including illustrations, too, the story is not just a strange appearance on the old walls, but a beautiful one. We've seen similar use of walls before, as William Faulkner wrote an outline for one of his novels on the walls of his office.

I find this incredibly powerful. Really beautiful work.

Powerful and egoless.
I wonder, has it been kept? It's all the more powerful for me that I can't read it.
This is a little too manic and serial killer for my taste. I think I've watched too many movies.
Is this China's version of the Chateau d'If?
This is one of the most beautiful and poignant things I've seen in ages.
I think this is gorgeous and amazing... haunting, since I can't read it. But there's a beauty in just seeing it and knowing what it is, even if I can't understand what it says. It gives me an urge to find someone who can fill my walls with words in another language. Better yet, it inspires me to be creative. I've been feeling stale for months, and this revived something in me. I think it's a wonderful concept.

Does it translate to All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy?
Or maybe No TV and no beer make Homer go crazy?
This somehow reminds me of 80's streetstyle design - like Adam Ant's apartment.
OK... but is the novel any good? (Ahahaha, kung-fu super-hero adventure? XDDD)
Hm, their handwriting is pretty good. (On the basis of me finding it legible in spite of not being able to read Chinese (anymore) and never having had to read much handwriting.) Though... huh. Is it in traditional characters?
I'm Asian! but this art is really too weird and busy for a house to live in. I am not surprised it's abandoned. True Asian art is more serene. Besides, I can read the characters, and the characters are not written in a nice Chinese way of calligraphy. the handwriting looks like a crazy man's handwriting or of a 4 year old. ;)
