This week at Ohdeedoh we checked out the great decorations like these handmade "cherry blossoms" at a Chinese theme birthday party for an eight year old.

• The NY Times showcased this "grown-up" Strawberry Shortcake. And apparently, she's not the only childhood character who's getting an update: Care Bears, Bugs Bunny, Scooby-Doo, Angelina Ballerina and Mickey Mouse are all up for a make-over.

• Kristin, our blogger for AT: Europe, told us about her favorite Parisian kids design store, Serendipity. They pair the beautiful restored vintage iron kids beds with trendy pillows for a lovely result.

• Whether you're a fan of the movie or not, Lily's room from Sex and the City was a good source of inspiration. Check out that hot pink wallpaper with hand-drawn Chinese lanterns.

Yeah, we were just discussing this Strawberry Shortcake update at Licensing Show. I don't like it, but she doesn't bother me so much as the update they did 6 or 7 years ago that's a little cheesier ... and they gave one of them (I think Huckleberry Pie) cargo pants!!
The Strawberry Shortcake update is nothing short of disgusting. What's wrong with little girls identifying with little girls? She has a cell phone, for crying out loud!
They turned Strawberry Shortcake into JonBenet Ramsey (sp?) rather than leaving her looking like Little Miss Sunshine (Abigail Breslin). :(
So has Raggedy Anne been turned into a Bratz doll yet?
We've been discussing that SS article too. I agree, bad redesign. I like the original, but that's what I grew up with. The current designs are at least kid-looking. This one looks like that Mylee Cyrus VF layout. Why try to be sexy? It's a kid's show!
And, is anyone else bothered by the pink hair instead of red?
randomname, Raggedy Anne HAS been updated too, although they chose to make her younger, rather than older... I think she's supposed to be a toddler.
