We typically think of chore charts as 2D wall-mounted affairs, so this countertop version pretty much blew our minds. It's pretty, interactive, incredibly well thought out and explained with a tutorial and free download. It's also made with 2x4s and tongue depressors!

Alison at How Does She? whipped up this wonder using 2x4s, a miter saw, a drill, tongue depressors, mod podge, decorative paper and vinyl. Inspired by a home organizing class, Alison color coded the chores according to duration: ten minute chores are yellow, five minute chores are red and two minute chores are green. Each child draws their own chores, takes their block and gets to work. When they are done they return the chores to home base. Get the tutorial (complete with band-aids) at How Does She?
