- What I Love About My Small Home:
- Although our apartment is just under 500 square feet, the large downtown park right outside makes up for the lack of space. A large corner window in the kitchen/living room allows for plenty of breathing room and unobstructed views of both the park and city skyline.
- Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space
- With both of us being artists, the hardest part hasn't been living in our small space at all, but rather finding a way to work and create. We have solved it by creating/buying plenty of modular work surfaces and various forms of hidden storage. Above all, keeping the apartment clean and free of clutter makes all the difference.

what paint color did you use in the bedroom? it is gorgeous!
I love the look of your place!! The windows in your kitchen/living room are to die for!
I like how you hung flowers and pans together. it really softens the effect. Are these from Ikea?
Love those acrylic chairs in your kitchen eating area! Where did those come from? Beautiful home!
Love it! How nice it must be to sit by those windows!
Oh! Is that headboard DIY?? I love it! Can you slide shelves in at different places? Tell me more!
Your place is great! Hooray Minneapolis!
Beautiful, clean space. Very well done. (Also, yay Minneapolis!)
Great view!
Thanks everyone.
The bedroom paint color is from Home Depot and is called "wheat bread". Pot/plant rack is from Ikea as are the acrylic chairs in the kitchen and bedroom. We split the four chairs between the kitchen and desk in the bedroom since most of the time, two is all we need. Its nice tohave four matching chairs if the need ever comes up.
Yes, the headboard is DIY and yes, you can slide shelves in wherever you want. The space is made to take regular lumber (1x4, 1x6, etc) so new shelves of varying shapes, sizes, materials, and colors are easy to come by.
Is that a dentist lamp I spy near the couch? Cool...
Yes it is, 50s era. Picked up at Goodwill for only $9.
Nice. Where did you get that white couch?
Ikea again. We did the tufting ourselves.
My friend in Minn keeps trying to get me to move there! Nice and colorful, love the walls. Where do you hide everything?
I need to do that tufting to my Karlstad.
Your eating area would be perfect for my place. Is that wall mounted table Ikea or something else?
My girlfriend and I just moved to Minneapolis about a year ago. Theis is our first apartment outside of college housing, so it has been fun to finally decorate!
We actually made the kitchen bar ourselves. You can get the white melamine at any hardware/home store. The legs are from Ikea.
We do have three nice closets, so that allows us to keep stuff out of sight.
I'd kill for a view like that! What a great apartment. It looks comfy and everything looks like it belongs. I love the bed headboard and the other shelves in the apartment. And the kitchen bar table....perfect.
I don't have much to say except, I love it! You have great style, very simple, yet chic. Very clean lines and great use of color. The amount of light coming into your place is worth however much you're paying then some. You're now in my top 10 favorites.
Thanks for the inspiration!
Views. Wow.
Park Terrace has never looked so good!
Clean, sparkly, gorgeous.
Yeah Minneapolis! This is in my neighborhood-- what beautiful views.
Love the deer head! Is that a real deer? ;)
