It's always nice to have a theme for your home office. This is the first that we've seen that uses the comic book hero Superman as a way to showcase a really cool workstation, that features a lot of tech in a small space. Read on to find out more about Chris' Superman home office!
Chris has a lot of Macs in his home office. He's got everything from a PowerPC G5, to a 24-inch iMac, to a 13-inch MacBook Pro. All in all, this is an impressive array of tech that's all included in his corner home office, that doesn't look all that big. Chris managed to effectively use the available space for his home office. He's got at total of three monitors. The iMac has an additional monitor, which is perfect for reading, tweeting, and socail networking. It's a 19" ViewSonic monitor and it has been positioned vertically using a 3M Monitor Arm. That's an interesting use of a what today we'd call a smaller monitor. It makes us think of how we can reuse some of the smaller monitors that we've got laying around.
Chris uses a leveled home office design, which works really well. There are a lot of shelves, and each of them hold some tech. We especially like where the PowerPC G5 and MacBook Pro are sitting, on a sort of pedestal. It's interesting because usually people will shove desktops underneath their desks. The leveled approach works brilliantly for his iMac, where he smartly placed his Wacom tablet on one level, and then his Apple Wireless keyboard and Magic Mouse on the roll-out shelf just underneath.

Even though that's a lot of Apple products (tho not exclusively so), I'm glad to see it all in a real office-y office. A lamp! A printer! A computer tower! And my favorite, a keyboard tray! I truly appreciate that it's not another minimalist set-up. This is a corner for doing a lot of stuff. A lot. I'll bet he has a real office chair with real cushions, too!
Love the set up. Could you let me know where you bought the desk?
Thank you for the kind comments. I assist my wife with her modern dance company on all aspects of video editing, music editing and creation, web design and marketing so, yes, a lot does go on at the desk - and, yes, the chair is comfy!
The desk is actually a combination of two computer desks from Bush but are no longer available as far as I can tell. I purchased them in 2000 and 2002 from OfficeMax. The desk housing the G5 Tower and Monitor was called the Student Entertainment Desk.
I showed this post to my boyfriend just because he's a huge Superman fan. He wants all your figurines.
Here is another angle that highlights a few more pieces of Superman and tech:
