Name: Christina Han
Location: Fishers, Indiana (Just outside of Indianapolis)
We live in a 2 bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor of our building. I love being outside and I love sitting in the sun. Our space is pretty small, so there wasn't much room to do anything crazy, but I definitely wanted our deck to be a place I wanted to sit. Because we live in Indiana, we typically can only use the space a couple of months of the year, but when the weather allows we use it as often as possible.
My inspiration started with some chairs I saw at Target — I couldn't get my mind off of them. I had to have them. Some of the items I already had, but mostly I bought new items to create my dream space for this outdoor deck. I love marigolds, and that started my color scheme of yellow, which I paired with blue, and just made sure everything fit in with that. The great thing about plants and flowers is that if you pick the right ones, they will always enhance your space. When I sit outside, I feel like I am at a resort on vacation. My perfect spot.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Looks great!...I'm always one of those fortunate ones that seldom finds the great clearance deals like those you mention.
like the use of yellow and blue...relaxing. Good job in such a tiny space.
I think this looks great! I could use all the help and inspiration I can get since I have a pation area instead of a yard, also.
Nice colors! I'm a Target lover as well. :) So many DIY opportunities with this too (sorry, I'm always seeing what I can mess around with!).
Hey, thanks for the ideas! I have a very similar space, and am looking to make it more useable. Wait, maybe that's the wrong word. I'm looking to make it more conducive to kicking back with a beer and watching the sun go down. You have a nifty setup. Do the plants go inside during the winter?
I don't know why you can only use this space for a couple months out of the year. I live in Pennsylvania and we have similar weather. With the exception of ice or snow, I would put on a zippy and sit out there all the time! I love it.
It's an attractive space, but I hope these posts aren't going to be all about setting some chairs, a table, and some plants on a balcony. That's standard practice.
It's nice, but I was expecting something with more....oomph.
