Name: Christina
Location: East London, United Kingdom
When I bought this flat it was in a terrible state — dark floors, a mess of a kitchen, and I can't even explain the bathroom. I'm half Danish, half Filipino but it's style is probably mostly Scandinavian. I bleached the floor with lye, a Danish treatment. I lived there for a year but then rented it out for two years while I was living abroad.
When I returned — new American husband in tow — I set about redecorating, using a mix of some of my pre-married furniture and some new, vintage finds. I love it. It's small but bright and airy. Only problem is having visitors from abroad — a bit of a squeeze but hey, it's London, who spends all day indoors anyway?
Thanks Christina!

Shaw's Original Fir...
Wow! This is super, super cute. Everything is just right.
I want those floors!!
Gorgeous floors, and a lovely aesthetic.
Love those floors. Good use of space.
Cutecutecute! Love the floors. Love how this space maintains a playful sensibility, and doesn't go all stark-modern. Very stylish.
Hooked on lutefisk
This shows that similar tastes and styles don't necessarily change just because of location - I can see this being anywhere in the US as well.
Those bookshelves are awesome.
Lovely fireplace
Great blue chair in first picture, do you know who makes it?
I would love to know where those bookshelves are from. Are they available in the US or does someone know of a similar system (elfa?)?
got it, it is a bertoia lounge chair (the cover threw me off)
elfa can recreate that look, katalyst. either freestanding or floating.
Wow, this is a kitchen that makes mine look big! You personalized, warmed, and graced your home with color, wall art, accessories, and your book collection. You maintain order and function in a small space. You even make doing this simultaneously in a small space look natural--I'm impressed.
tastefully designed! Where can I find that coffee table?
That hanging bookcase is Elfa. Elfa is owned by The Container Store and can be purchased at any retail store, over the phone, or online! The Container Store does free designs every day!
Do like the book case too.
I love the bookcases, I am moving to a 300sq ft apt soon so I have a good idea what to do with my books!
Love the side table in photo 2. Where did you get it? Thanks!
The side table is an old record cabinet. I found it in a great little vintage shop in east London.
Thanks for all your comments! Hopefully there will be more projects to follow.
