Your Favorite Thing About Your Outdoor Space: My favorite thing about my porch is that it is very versatile and I can use it for everything at all different times of the day. From first thing in the morning with writing and meditation to doing some art work or paper work checking my email having cocktails or even dinner for up to six people very comfortably. I spend a lot of time observing nature with out the mosquito bites or flies in my food and I can get a little work done too. I love to sit and listen to the rain or summer insects buzzing or watch a thunderous lightening storm.
Biggest Design Challenge With This Space: The interior door and exterior doors to this screen porch are directly across from each other and the path between cuts the porch space in half. Even though it is such a small space I was able to create two distinct areas with a loveseat and a table situated across from each other. There is still plenty of room to walk through the porch and get around the table. A little trick with the table was to put some small blocks under the four legs to elevate it just 2 inches so that the chairs could be pushed in under the table and not block the path between the two doors.
Tips for Creating a Great Small Outdoor Space: Unify the space with nature as much as possible. Keep it simple and multi-functional. Spend lots of time at different times of the day to study the space as a climate with light and temperature.
Thanks, Christine, and good luck!

Excellent small space.
i love the fiery red contrasting with the peaceful yellow...and also bringing the indoors out with the curtains makes it feel quite cozy!!....great job!
Lovely spot for mediation and relaxation.
I like that it looks comfortable and cozy but not too cluttered. And you addressed that problem of the doorway dividing the space very well.
Great space, very peaceful.
Stunning use of a small window to the world. A breath of fresh air! A garden of green, red and yellow. A windbreak. A place to appreciate the out of doors year round! A lovely place to collect your thoughts and energy every day. A place to share your hospitality and your heart. Applause.
Very inviting ... I can imagine myself curling up with a good book, doing some writing or just taking an afternoon nap!
