This weekend is the weekend for holiday parties and if you're still looking for ideas for that "signature drink," I've got just the right thing for you.
Here are three of my favorites. I personally enjoy playing with the garnishes! The first recipe I'm planning on serving this weekend, and the third was a HUGE hit a few years back at my engagement party. Enjoy!
Candy Cane Martini (pictured)
1½ ounces vanilla vodka
½ ounce peppermint schnapps
1 ounce club soda
crushed candy canes for garnish

1 ½ Tablespoons granulated sugar (can be adjusted according to taste)
⅛ teaspoons vanilla extract
a pinch or so of freshly grated nutmeg
⅓ cup milk (I used 2%)
1½ ounces of quality dark rum (bourbon would work well too)
Recipe and Directions: the kitchn
Lemon Drop Martini
1½ ounces vodka
½ ounce triple sec
1 teaspoon superfine sugar
¾ ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
Superfine sugar for dipping

Hi Apartment Therapy! You know what's really stylish this holiday season? Good writing! Please have someone edit your posts for glaring mistakes like party's/parties!
tndc FTW!
I saw "party's" and "your" (instead of "you're") right off the bat - first line in my Google reader. Shudder.
I'll have to have one of these drinks to recover! ;)
What breaks my little grammar nerd heart is that the author fixed the first error and left the second. Sigh.
But those candy cane martinis are cute as a button. Complaining about grammar is probably why I haven't been invited to any parties where they are served.
OMG This post was written for me! Was desperately searching for cocktail recipes for a post christmas party!! Thank you Thank you
We used the candy cane cocktail recipe last night and it was GREAT!
