- Inspiration for my palette:
- The apartment is very small, just 450 sq ft. I wanted something exuberant and warm, bold but also calm. I love being in the space, it feels alive.
- Colors used in my room
- Brick red (Farrow & Ball Red Earth), canary yellow, blue
- Tips for using color successfully
- Pull your scheme from existing art and/or carpets and don't be afraid to go for contrast. Life is too short for bland!

Room for Color
Not my kind of colors at all, but that picture with the sun coming on the table...it looks so peaceful and happy, and I felt like I could sit right down... Very nice!
Love love love, gets my vote.. where did you get your dinning table?
such a happy room - one of my faves so far in this contest
Not only are these "my kind of colors," but the particular shades you've chosen work magically well together. I'm very very impressed by this! Definitely, Warm and Inviting!
Love the room and look! Can you source or ID the wall unit storage system please?
Yay for yellow couches! My contest entry and my living room also has a happy yellow upholstered sofa... although yours is much cooler. I really like your space. It's so small and cozy. Well done!
The color here is vibrant and yet doesn't overwhelm the small space. (Great use of space in a small are, btw.) It's somehow warm and calming at the same time. Beautiful.
Total cupboard love! And I love the contrast between the crispness of the navy-and-white and the earthiness of the orang(ish) walls.
It all looks good!
I love love love it, Chris! Obviously, you have my vote. The new painting is perfect for the space.
Funny how my favorites are tending to be in the international category. Great job.
thanks for the props. cupboard love indeed. the dealer who sold it to me said it had been custom made in the late 1950s. it's really well designed and the cupboards are deep and hold a lot of stuff. there's another vertical support and lots of extra open shelves but my space is only big enough to use the two rows.
