White in the kitchen is clean-looking, timeless, and versatile. But it doesn't have to be sterile or plain. In fact, we barely even noticed that these kitchens were white at all. It's only on second look that you realize that all of the color in these kitchens is introduced through decor pieces like dishes, rugs, and accessories that can be changed out over time:

The bundt cake pans on the wall are so colorful!
When renting an apartment in the city, white, bland cupboards are the usual. These are great ideas to spice up the kitchen, when renovation isn't a possibility or you're designing on a budget.
I agree with bontuv those bundt-cake pans on the wall are wonderful! They make me feel so happy. They're so colorful and give the room such an interesting influence of texture.
I love the look of an all white room bursting with different colors and pieces of art. It makes you appreciate the accessories that much more.
these photos are beautiful!
I love these so much -- especially 1, 5 and 7.
where can i find a plate rack like the one in photo #3?
I love that!
Thank you, this was just the inspiration i needed! The counter-tops just came for my kitchen re-do and it's starting to look a little bland. I have dark terra-cotta tile floors, aluminum kick plate, very light wood smooth base cabinets, white counter-top with aluminum edge, white backsplash, and all frosted glass aluminum-edged cabinets on top, with a thin light wood boarder on the top and bottom and turquoise ceiling! Anyway... I need to bring some of the terracotta up, and turquoise down to that great white expanse of white in the middle. Now to go digging in the moving boxes for al kinds of weird things to bring to the kitchen... would a terra-cotta head next to the cutting board be a little too weird? ;-)
I could take any one of these kitchens. The multi-colored accessories work really well in an all white kitchen. How cheerful, first thing in the morning!
I have the exact opposite problem:
My rental kitchen's bones are bright and my (ever growing) Fiesta Ware collection (grew up with it and my mom gifted me a 4 person set and it's been growing over the last 3 years...) is also very, very colorful.
Conundrum 1: Open light brown MDF shelving
Conundrum 2: Three closed lower cabinets and two drawers.
Conundrum 3: Crazy (but awesome) two story sky-light that bathes the room in light all day long. Okay so that's not really a problem.
Conundrum 4: Rainbow laminate counters. I kid you not. The design is a rainbow fan. So even if I paint the cupboards (which are solid KraftMaid doors)
Oh and a roommate who "stocks up" on crazy amounts of pasta and other non-perishables so they pretty much fill the upper cabinets. (That is a problem.) Except for non-clear cups and glasses which are above the dishwasher.
I attached a flickr link for those of you willing to give me some advice... I have thick skin, be honest. Honesty is the best policy.
Cheers,
Eileen

PS: If there is less than 8 of a Fiesta item then that means it's in the dishwasher. Likewise for the glasses.
