A friend of mine is hosting a tiny pinata makin' party in anticipation of Cinco de Mayo. I'll miss the festivities since I'll be merrily tromping through the woods, so I thought I'd get in on the fun by telling you about it here...

Inspired by this adorable and super-thorough tutorial by Amanda of Ruffled, my friend invited a bunch of people over to make the sweetest little pinatas ever. She had the brilliant idea of asking everyone to prepare their balloon beforehand (see Ruffled's step-by-step photos), so at the party everyone could focus on eating, drinking, and decorating. As this is a crafty & generous crowd, I'm sure most people will make extras to share with last-minute (or forgetful) guests. The hostess is providing colorful tissue paper, glue, and scissors, but has asked guests to bring any crafty supplies they might have on hand: it's so much more fun to swap colors and papers and glitters, and marvel at the surprising combinations. Invite a bunch of people, make friends, make micheladas, make a mess, make a tiny pinata for me!
