Another one bites the dust. Circuit City has announced plans to immediately begin closing all 567 stores, discounting all merchandise starting tomorrow. Sad news, as we actually liked our local Circuit City for the occasional big box purchase (we purchased our Xbox 360 system and games there). We're considering braving the crowds tomorrow and checking out what we can for a likely modest discount; liquidations normally start off with decent, though non-extraordinary discounts and then snowball to deep discounts as closing day looms closer and closer. 1080p DLP projector, here we come! No, not really...but we can hope.

do you know the expected real close date for all the stores? I know when compusa closed awhile back it took like MONTHS for the one in my town to actually close.
Depends on how long the liquidators decide to keep them open. The local Mervyn's was open for months, but the liquidation outfit started bringing in all sorts of crap - including Persian rugs - that Mervyn's never even sold.
Wouldn't be surprised to see something similar happen to Circuit Sh*tty. Can't say I'm sorry to see that bunch of crooks go under.
I guess I'm not the only one hoping to score a deal on a projector!
