Our colleague Aaron of ATNY was recently captivated by these City and Country Blocks at his favorite local toy store, kid o, and shared these photos with us. We really like the modern color palette and the quality of the wood and think they'd appeal to any young builder.

Kid o is known for its good taste in toys that are simple, beautiful, high-quality and that inspire creative play so we weren't surprised to learn that they are selling these blocks under their own brand.
City and Country Blocks come in three sets: Step I: Foundations includes basic shapes and cubes in primary colors; Step II: Extensions introduces additional shapes and has cubes in secondary colors; Step III: Geometric Extensions brings triangles and curves and cubes in black and pastels. Each set sells for $56.

Shaw's Original Fir...
I grew up with a block set similar to these and I loved them. My sister and I would spend hours playing this these and building things with my dad. When we got older we moved on to legos and now I am engineer and she is a graphic designer. I am sure the blocks helped!
I love the name... perfect for the mix of natural wood and shiny colors!
