A friend of ours just purchased the City Block bed from CB2. When we saw it in person last week, we loved the low, platform style that also includes a simple headboard and legs that slightly elevate.
And the piece is high-gloss white finish - a look we love.
The Full-size bed is on sale now for $449 (reg. $549); Queen is $599. Our friend went for the King, but we don't see that online so you may need to call CB2 to special order it.

I have a black City Block bed in queen and love it. It was easy to assemble and yet is very sturdy. I recommend it.
hey bubble,
what are the slat like that the mattress sits on? are they pretty close together? how wide are they? just curious about stability.
Katie, the slats are wooden, in two rows (there's a metal bar in the middle for extra support). I'm not at home right now and can't double check, but from what I remember the slats are a couple of inches wide with a couple of inches between them.
I've had the bed for a year now and it's holding up very well, with one exception: the slat fittings are plastic and they began to crumble. It hasn't affected the stability though, and CB2 sent me a free extra set of slat fittings at my request.
Thanks bubble! Good to know.
I've had a king in black for over a year now and only have one complaint. The middle bar creates a lump down the middle of the bed that keeps us on our own separate sides of the bed.
I've actually considered replacing the slats with plywood sheets and making it a platform but I'm worried about fumes from the glue in the plywood.
mscot, really? I've never had that problem. Do you use a futon mattress? I just use a standard thickness mattress on top of the slats and haven't noticed any unevenness at all.
We have a memory foam mattress so that may be the cause.
I really do want to put the plywood underneath. I wonder if there would be fumes...
