The Renovation Diaries are a new collaboration with our community in which we feature your step by step renovation progress and provide monetary support towards getting it done in style.

We also patched the floors with salvaged hardwood where the original icebox stood, as well where the original stairwell was.
One fun thing to share: we decided to repurpose the old base cabinets in our basement laundry room. A fresh coat of paint and a new countertop. And one less chunk of history in the landfill. Pics to follow.
Estimated time for project: 4-8 weeks
Time remaining: 3-4 weeks
Check out the full series (so far) and be sure to join us next week for #6 of Claire & Jeffrey's Diary.

White Enamel Flatwa...
A slow week? "Work was crazy so we only managed to rip out the cabinets clean up, and patch the floors" I think you guys are super-human! Do you sleepz/
I'm exhausted just watching - keep up the good work.
Ugh! I know what this was like...I just went through it a few months ago. LOL. I thought it would never end...along with the surprises! I must say though...your process was much more work than mine was...I honestly don't know how anyone manages when they have to tear the kitchen completely apart??? Anyway...I am so going to keep up on your progress...I want to see the end results! Good luck, and have an awesome week! -Michael

Awesome progress! It's exhausting work - hang in there! Happy to hear you reused some cabinets, such a smart idea! Keep it up!!
Great job on a time consuming project. Keep up the good work and attitude.
Looks great. I would be so tempted to put a couple more windows in your exterior wall. What's the plan for that wall? Like the new stair lay out.
@NNYBear: I love the look of a huge span of windows. But we decided not to change the existing set-up for two reasons: budget and view. If we added more, we'd be overlooking our South neighbor's deck.
