Name: Clare (3)
Location: Wollongong, NSW Australia
When my daughter Clare went into a big bed, I decided it was time for a restyle. I wanted something simple that could be changed as she grows. So I opted to keep the room white and accessorize with lots of colorful textiles, artwork, and bits and pieces.
Apart from the bed, we already had the furniture (an Expedit bookcase and an Eames replica rocker). The bed is an IKEA one I picked up second hand. The counting banner was a thift shop find for two dollars. The reading corner was an addition, which includes the wonderful IKEA Ribba ledge. The lamp belonged to my husband when he was a child, a great vintage piece that has sentimental value. The top of the Expedit bookcase is perfect for keeping all the sentimental items that I want on display but out of little hands.
My next challenge will be decorating baby number two's room....
Thanks, Jenny! Well done!

Shaw's Original Fir...
What a cheerful room!
This is why I love white/light walls--they really provide a lovely calm background for the toys and books, which add color and life instead of being 'curated down' to what looks best.
This looks like a room that a little girl can live in and enjoy. Really nice.
What a gorgeous room!
And yes, I particularly like how white is the perfect backdrop for colorful toys and books.
Love. Wonderful pops of color. Great windows in room. I immediately knew it was an international room - always have great windows!
This is such a wonderfully colorful room! I absolutely adore it.
Beautiful!
What a great room! Love that lamp shade and the mix of white walls and colorful furnishings. Just my style. I'm trying to get ideas for how to make something like this work for a slightly older kid.
Does anyone know anything about the side table? Or is it a stool?
Love the room! Lucky kid. As one who is very conscious of the fact that I never screw my Ikea furniture into the wall, even when they say I should, so am careful when using it (no kids here), every three year old I know (and/or their friends) would climb that Expedit in seconds to get what they want from higher shelves. I know they weigh a ton and don't seem like they'd tip, but never underestimate the effect of a child's weight hanging off it when they climb.
Perfectly wonderful!
I am pretty sure its from ikea too.....i think it is a stool..........

Yes the stool/side table is from Ikea. The expedit certainly in heavy, especially when full. Funnily enough my three year old daughter has never tried to climb on it. The lamp shade is from a shop called Freedom in Australia. If you meant the lamp on the side table, its a vintage one.
Thanks Dream child organics! Love your choice of duvet cover. I almost went for a land of the nod zig zag duvet cover, but decided I like bright cushions instead, so went with plain white. The counting banner is just made of fabric. I think it came out of a pre-school near my home, as I found it at the thift store next door for TWO DOLLARS! It was the perfect find and the perfect colours. As for the other artworks on the wall at the head of the bed. The bird plate is just from Ikea and just stuck to the wall. The LOVE sign is a fabric book that was given to me by my Sister before Clare was born. The circles are just wooden embroidery hoops that I filled with some material I again found at a thrift shop. Always nice to hear some lovely comments on a room that my Daughter and I both love.
