Where did that spice rack come from in the 5th photo?? I want one!!
These are great, and I'mma let you finish, but Chicago bungalows are the best houses of all time!
Yes, I just recycled a Kanye meme from a thousand years ago, but my point is valid: Schedule some AT classic Chicago brick and wood frame Bungalow house tours, stat!
Imma 2nd what A from IsItAHouseYet says. Would love to see some bungalow tours! Nice to see the city's signatures getting a post. Thanks AT!
The big sneaker in the first pix is PERFECT.
I LOVE that giant sneaker!!
All of the tours are giving me a 403 Forbidden Error. Help!
I think these are supposed to be apartments more than houses, but I second (or fifth) the call for a feature on classic Chicago bungalows.
This post made me miss Chicago! I spent most of my time there living in the converted old hotels on the shores of Lake Michigan in Rogers Park. I loved all the quirky details and leftovers from different eras...like iceboxes built into the porches. Thanks for this awesome post!
3 flat, loft, duplex down, garden, coach house and now my bungalow. Only thing I didn't do living in Chicago was a high rise.
Spectacular; all of them. Let's see more of this handsome style on AT.
If I could afford to live in style in Chicago, I'd be there in a flash. But, I'd have to get outta town during the winters, fer sure.
Wasn't there a Berwyn bungalow tour not long ago?
The sixth picture of the Gold Coast tour is such a terrible kitchen. I don't mean the throwback to formica as if it were ever cool, but having cabinets hanging over the counter space like that. I mean, you can't lean over the counter now, but it's the only functional space to work.
It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry remodeled his kitchen. It's practically the same setup.
I really love that sneaker print. Does anyone know the name of the artist?
Interesting that you have two photos from the same Goldberg Building (Astor Tower). I'm not really a fan of bungalows and their 2/3-flat cousins (floorplan wise, the kind where bungalows are just stacked), the rooms tend to be on the small side and don't have the greatest layouts.
I love the picture with the woman in the kitchen. It's so rich in bright colors.
