This newly upholstered Fabulous Black Lacquer Armchair has been redone in green velvet with a down filled cushion. The frame (originally from the 1900's) has also been refinished in a high quality black lacquer. This chair is a terrific example of how you can modernize and completely invigorate an old piece of furniture -- so yes, you SHOULD get that chair you found on Craigslist or saw at the Brooklyn Flea Market for $20 because with a little (or a lot) of TLC, it could look like this! Or... you could just buy this one.

This company, MetroSofa, is based in London, gives a Californian phone number on its site (metrosofa.com), and offers a price list only on request...not sure they should be on Craigslist, let alone the AT Scavenger!
I love love LOVE it!
Hmmm...you're quite right, alahrachel. I should have looked a little closer at the details. I was just so taken with the picture that I neglected the finer print. Thanks for pointing that out! I see they've been flagged for removal now, so hopefully no one else will be misled.
i don't normally post on these boards, but i wanted to let you all know my personal experience...i saw the craigslist posting and emailed for pricing - i couldn't find pricing online either and i brought this up when i spoke to one of their reps...she told me no prices online because everything is custom made...i was billed from a usa company (tel. numbers for CA and FL) - i did receive a call from another rep. - someone with a british accent who told me they started out in the uk. they helped me with a chair project when a brooklyn-based upholsterer had let me down. i do a lot of residential and commercial projects and from time of ordering a chair (a frame fabric chair - as photographed above) to delivery took just 5 days - that's quicker than when i work with a local NYC company to have something custom made. i'm very glad i found them on craigslist and can recommend them given my positive experience...but i do like prices on websites! personally i welcome innovative products on craigslist...for my NYC particular project it worked out perfectly.
