Nothing irks us more than a child hopped up on sugar right before dinner time. It tends to happen a few times a year: Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine's Day. Help thwart the teacher's nightmare with this super simple DIY keepsake.

Chelsea of The Sweetest Occasion came up with an ingenious idea. Instead of candy, this year give a handcrafted clay heart, each with a personalized message. Chelsea used Fimo and a stamp set purchased at Staples. Regular potter's clay will also get the job done. Lovely, no?

I guess these are kind of cute, but at the end of the day, it's just giving people more junk. I guess as a kid, collecting dumb junk is fun, but if I were a parent I honestly would avoid giving people more clutter and would rather just go for the candy or something other people wouldn't feel guilty about throwing away.
It's lovely. And if someone gave this to me, I would cherish it (That is if the feeling was mutual).
Just looking at the photo I thought it was a bar of heart shaped soap. I like the clay idea, but I think heart shaped soap would be really cute (just melt down regular soap and pour it into heart shaped ice cube molds), because it has a use, and after a while it goes away so you don't have to worry about junk filling up your house.
I agree with Marcellah: it's lovely. The rest of you: let kids be kids, no doubt as you once were; kids love junk. Bitter, cranky controlling adults is what you are!
i know my son can't have sugar in any amounts, so the little "junk" he gets is appreciated. then again my other son is never happier then when he has a piece of candy! so i guess it is what it is, just let them have fun.
Cute but I'm with the "no more useless clutter" camp. However I can definitely see it being a nice gift for someone who can't have candy/sugar for whatever reason.
