As the bridge from your bed to your daily life, it is important the bathroom remain a clean and peaceful place. In this roundup, we’ve gathered some images that provide great inspiration for tranquil living.
We love going all-white when it comes to tiles, walls and fixtures as to allow small details and dashes of color to pop for a clean and cheerful look. Artwork with calming color-schemes, like the seascape paintings in image one, prompt a relaxing atmosphere, and re-purposed wooden shelving can be great for stacking towels and jars of bathroom necessities high above so you can keep floors and corners free and clear. And though the image of the greenhouse style bathroom in image two is aspirational to most, the idea of incorporating plants in a bathroom with sufficient light can make for a lush and verdant mood while you take your bubble baths.

As for the bathrooms---the glassed in one looks like a photo-shoot to me! Impractical and a waste of prime space.
can you control the ads from hjikl! I dont want to see clothes sites.
Artwork in the bathroom ?
We are currently creating a new bathroom and renovating an old one, and I wonder about the art. I'd like to put a little something on the wall, but what about the humidity ? Let's face it, few of us have a huge bathroom where humidity is not an issue.
Any idea as to what art I can hang, without destroying it because of the heat / humidity ?
Yes I thought that glass one was ridiculous also the one with the fluffy chair, that's where I like to sit when I'm all wet! Also too many claw foot tubs, I have one and I hate it we will be getting rid of it when the time comes to overhaul our bathroom.
I bought artwork at a closeout for the bathroom. It has been up for quite awhile without problems. It was not expensive and it looks fantastic. I had a lovely claw foot when I lived in Tudor City. I miss it.
Loora, I had the same thought. I have several photographs that my boyfriend took that I'd love to hang in the bathroom, but I'm afraid the humidity would destroy them. Perhaps a Plexiglass frame would protect them? I don't know...
Re: artwork in the bathroom. I collect vintage prints of dogs and I have them hanging in my bathroom. I just hung them with no afterthought on the humidity. I just checked, all is fine in the artwork.
I agree on the other baths. The only one I could relate to being an apartment dweller is #5 from This Old House. Small yet light and airy and the shelving in #6. Great use of space for storage when none is available on the floor.
I have a tiny bathroom and have artwork inside an ikea frame with regular glass. 6 years and no problems.
My parents and in-laws have also always had photographs and artwork in the bathrooms and have never had issues with heat or humidity. My mother-in law has a print encased in a glass frame right next to the shower with a heating vent in front of it. I think it's been there for roughly 15 years.
Nevermind humidity, image #1's paintings look like they're right in the line of fire from the shower...
If you're concerned about humidity, you may want to try canvas prints. There are a number of websites that offer wrapped canvas prints using your photographs or artwork. They are very easy to wipe down.
