A big part of spring cleaning for parents is tackling those toys: purging some, donating others, and making sure the ones you keep are clean. Find out where to recycle electronic toys, how to freshen up stuffed animals, and how to bring order to the chaos.

This slideshow on Good Housekeeping.com is a great place to start. It covers all of the basics from where to donate or recycle those toys to how to wash the plastic ones in your dishwasher and clean the grimy electronic toys.

• Check Earth 911 for recycling information.

• Check CPSC.gov to make sure no items you're going to donate have been recalled.

• To kill dust mites, put stuffed animals in a plastic baggie in the freezer for 24 hours and then vacuum.

Head over to Good Housekeeping for the rest of the tips.
