Housecleaning Traditions

Cleaning is something we all do so routinely, it's not surprising that most of us develop habits or even traditions that build up over the years. Saturdays were always cleaning days in my parents' house growing up. Every weekend, that came first.

Now, we have our own cleaning traditions in my family's household. My husband always deals with the garbage. I make our bed and clean up after meals. The list goes on and on, but I don't remember ever really consciously establishing our roles. They sort of grew organically out of give and take and - yes - our individual interests in particular housekeeping chores.

What cleaning traditions do you have at your home?
Is it a chance to spend extra time with someone special?
Is there particular music you listen to or clothing that you wear?
Are some chores reserved for one particular person?
Is there a day of the week certain things are done or a certain way of doing it that was passed down through generations?
Let us know of your cleaning traditions in the comments section below!
