Name: Cleo (4 months)
Location: New York, NY
Division: Single Room
Room Size: 30 square feet
Tip for Living Small with Kids: Everything must have a purpose! Our wall cabinet in the nursery serves as a great piece for storage as well as a display shelf for Cleo's stuffed animals and toys. We even utilize the space under the crib to store her tub and changing table when its not in use.
Biggest Design Challenge in this Room: The biggest challenge was having 30 square feet to work with in addition to no windows. This room used to be our walk in closet but due to the size of our apartment we had no choice but to convert it to the nursery. With the help of warm colors and proper lighting, Cleo's room is still very light and airy.
Favorite Thing About This Room: My favorite thing about the room is how inviting it is. Cleo absolutely loves it! The light violet on the walls along with the white furniture and trim gives it a very calming feel. It actually appears like a small nursery and not just a closet anymore.
Thanks for your entry Heather and good luck!

Ercol Bar Stool
Very nice use of space, although I'd be more comfortable with the set up if the door had been removed and/or filter had been installed for airflow.
Where is that tall storage cabinet from? That would work well for our small nursery....
I adore Cleo's cubby! When you live in NYC you've got to get so creative with what little space you have, and you definitely did that! It's so warm and cozy, great job!
I've been eyeballing that mobile for months for my son's room. Very cute!
Wonderful!
We did the same thing with our son (made our walk-in a nursery). I loved it. It was fun to decorate such a small space creatively. It was the perfect size for an infant. You guys did a beautiful job!
Thanks all! Rebekah C both the tall storage cabinet and wall cabinet are from CB2. They are great!
TeRRific design and nice light color tones
Love Love Love it guys...Simple and Perfectly done!
I LOVE CLEO'S CUBBY. THE COLOR IS PERFECT AND LOTS OF AIR FLOW WITH A CEILING FAN/LIGHT. LOVE THE FUNKY RUG....ADDS A BIT OF FUN. FABULOUS ROOM.
Love Cleo's Cubby!! Perfect and so well done for such a small space!
Your palette and choice of beddings is just perfect ! Really cute and airy.
Scary...there's no windows!
I love that pink egg!!
Another reason to love NYC - big spacious rooms in all apartments. LOL Great job Heather. You do know how to live there.
Cleo's cubby is adorable. Amazing what can be done in a small NYC apartment.
Lovely Room!
this is lovely! and I second the inquiry about the storage piece with the long handles (IKEA?) well done!
it's cute...but what do you do when the kid gets older? does a normal bed fit in there?
Wow - I love this room! Its perfectly decorated (love that bedding & rug) and they've used the space perfectly. Great job guys!
This NYC baby nest is the perfect blend of a interesting color choice, a mix of textures, a hip modern city vibe but yet cozy and just a touch of girly for little cleo. Its proof that small spaces can be just as interesting (if not more) than big!
question - what's the changing table on top of the crib - did it come with the crib or did you buy seperately?? please let me know - great space saver!
This is the cutest bedroom I've ever seen, such a creative a cozy use of space. It is the perfect scale for little Cleo!!
I love the wall color! Do you recall what it is?
WHERE did you find that bedding? It's perfect!
Is there proper ventilation and temperature control in this closet?
"•Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is still
a leading cause of death for infants aged one
month to one year in developed countries.
•The increased risk of SIDS in at-risk infants
(prone sleep position, covered by a blanket
during sleep or placed on soft bedding) may be
explained by rebreathing of exhaled CO2
which is confined to a small unventilated area
near a sleeping infant‘s airway.
•Use of a fan during sleep decreases the risk of
SIDS by 72%:
“…increasing room ventilation by using a fan
helps to disperse accumulated CO2 in the
dead air space around the nose and mouth of
infants in sleeping environments that
heighten the risk of rebreathing."

i think this room is cozy and beautiful, simply precious! =) @sb3891 honestly, do you do anything but criticize people for the safety hazzards you think they are neglecting to take into account? i have seen you post comment after comment about safety standards. you continuously mention the possibility of losing a child if they didn't think about this or that...you know what? while child safety is of the utmost importance, i think we have to give parents a little credit here...i am sure that most of them have thought of the issues you raise and have accounted for them. do you frequent this website to look at nursery decor or do you see it as an opportunity to lecture people from on high? on several occasssions you have said that you are disappointed with odeedoh for posting unsafe information. obviously, your disappointment is not influencing what is posted so why do you set yourself up for constant disappoint continuing to visit the website?
Where did you get the changing table? Looks great!!
