Summer has been heating up, and with it, the requests from the kids for glasses of water. It's a fantastic habit to cultivate, since staying hydrated isn't always an automatic behavior. But the constant dishwashing from multiple cups ("Is that my cup or yours?") is both a nuisance and environmentally unfriendly. That's why this clever hack that personalizes cups and keeps them close to the water source is a great idea for families with little kids.

Dana Willard at MADE got this idea from her friend and posted a simple tutorial for making these magnetic refrigerator cups. By choosing some lightweight plastic tumblers and attaching magnets, parents can keep water cups within kids' reach and allow them to get their own water from the fridge or the sink. It's a simple idea to solve a very minor problem, but it can also give kids a little more autonomy, which is always welcome.
