Here's a good idea for small space dwellers looking for a place for a bed. In this Stockholm apartment (currently listed for sale by Alvhem estate agents) a living room closet was transformed into a second bedroom using paint, a wall-mounted bed frame, and some space-saving accessories.
Mounted to the wall, the bed frame leaves room underneath for storage baskets. A dark brown accent wall makes the space feel cozy, and two wall-mounted lamps provide enough light for reading. Against the wall, a double shelf offers just enough space for a glass of water and a book.
Although the bedroom doesn't offer much privacy, we think it's a good idea for a studio apartment or a one-bedroom that needs a guest bed.

i ABSOLUTELY love this set up! so smart and chic for city living...IKEA had a similar square footage set up in their store this past weekend...how to maximize sq footage is WAY important but doing it this seamlessly takes TALENT! bravo!
Get a pull out!
Lovely! I like how the dark color defines the sleeping space. That nightstand looks pretty easy to DIY, too.
This place is cheerful and interesting without trying too hard. Very nice.
I want that reading light. Does anyone have any idea where it is from?
Love it! I would totally want to hang layers of sheer curtains and hide out in there!
Alvhem in not from Stockholm, it's situated in Gothenburg - Sweden's second largest city.
It's not a bad idea if you really need another bed, except that it makes the entire living room look odd. Your eyes are drawn to the dark paint and the incongruous bed. If it were set up like a daybed it wouldn't look so strange, it could be a reading nook. Some curtains would provide privacy to a guest and could make a good design statement.
I think I'd like this alot more if there was a way to not see it during the day - like a pretty curtain or something....it's a great use of space though if needed.
I second Pencils - if it's a spare bed, I'd set it up like a daybed reading nook. That would be lovely.
Lovely but one has to wonder, where do you then store your clothes?
