Of all the reading nooks we've seen (and loved!), we have to say, this one should get a gold star for carpentry. If we hadn't seen the before picture, we'd have sworn it was built into the house's original construction.

The especially cool thing about this nook is that a regular, super talented mom made it. Brittany of Pretty Handy Girl was lucky enough to have two closets in her son's room, so she turned her crazy DIY skills on one of them to create an amazing, cozy, and beautifully lit space for her son to read. She has a full step by step at her blog, so charge up your power tools and go check it out.

I am smitten with this - my daughter has a very large closet in her room - the hamster is doing overtime on the wheel in my head!
I have always wanted to do something like this...unfortunately all our closets are full of clothes and other stuff. Maybe someday during our remodel I will find a nook I can have fun with!
BTW...this looks great!
Wow!
Love it, love it! I've been trying to figure out where I can squeeze in a reading nook. It's beautiful!
Whoa. This is really great! Darned lack of storage space...
Love this!! I've always wanted a little nook. But, with our small house, we have to use our closets for their intended purpose: stuffing them full of junk. Darn it. Maybe someday....
this is amazing! i grew up having a nice big window seat in my room that i loved to read on. I will have to keep this nook idea in mind when we buy a house someday. awesome idea!
Very Cool!

I love this, but can no longer access the step by step directions. Could you please email them to me?
