We found 5-1/2" Clamp-On Reflector Lights for about $8.50 at OSH over the weekend, but they're available at most hardware stores, and online here, here, and here, for instance. There are larger sizes, too, all really cheap and really versatile.

I do love the relaxed, industrial feel of the clamp lights, but the hanging cords would drive me crazy!
A nice twist on these is to use a silver bowl light bulb. It will direct the light back into the reflector instead of straight out. It makes for a softer glow and just looks cool.
