In our recent tour of Amy and Jim's Mid-Century Modern Home, we were impressed by how Amy and Jim incorporated contemporary art in their mid-century modern space. Most of Amy and Jim's furniture is also mid-century modern, either vintage or MCM in style. Their contemporary artwork collection works wonderfully with the MCM house and furniture pieces. More photos and info below the jump...

Having art in your home can do many things including adding color and texture, reminding you of favorite places and people, and making the space uniquely yours.

The painting above the jump is by Vietnamese artist Mai Anh. On this page, the red and black painting is by DC artist Afshin Atabaki and the "blue" painting is by Julia Von Eichel.

Do you have an interesting art-home combination? If so, please post photos in our flickr group "Apartment Therapy DC" or email your pics with ART COMBO in the subject line to: dc(at)apartmenttherapy(dot)com.
