Winter makes us happy to spend Friday nights in with a good glass of something. Our at-home bar is both concealed (some bottles sit on shelving in our old stereo cabinet) and displayed, spilling out onto a vintage tray. From past house tours, we find that Danny and Carlos display their liquor on a vintage bar cart (above), while minimalists Jim and Derrick keep theirs tucked away (shown below)...

What about you? Is this the kind of thing you display or conceal?

Since my children are both at college I have started a bar area on my console. Liquor bottles are displayed, and mixers, napkins, etc. are in drawers. I have really enjoyed setting this up! One of the perks of being an empty-nester.
Both. I keep Gin and Vermouth on my bar with my barware, and the rest stored away.
I usually keep a few bottles of my favorite vodka in the toilet tank...
Just keeeeding!
I re-purposed a hallway closet into a nice little bar area complete with glass shelving, cabinetry, glass tile backsplash and a limestone countertop.
I keep the actual bottles in the cabinet below.

I repurposed a bookcase I inherited a couple of year ago as my bar. The wire cage doors do lock but since I live alone right now, I don't have to worry about the strength of those locks. I've had a bar in my house for years; it would be quite an adjustment to have to rethink liquor storage because of kids- believe it or not, I had never considered that aspect until I read whitexb's comment!
My bookcase bar
ha! ya bunch of lushes..
☺
oops, that's supposed to be a smiley face.
WE WANT TO SEE EVERYONES PICS!!!!
We have all of our liquor on the top shelf in the front closet. It's quite a surprise to guests when we hang up their coats to see a full bar above them. :)
I've had an ongoing debate with myself over this. I have been displaying it, mostly because I don't know where to store it. During the holidays, because I didn't have people over to serve it to and wasn't drinking it myself, I put it away in a canvas grocery bag and I kind of liked not having it around. I might see about finding a place for it--the bottles are too tall for most of the cabinets I have.
Show it off..... And make sure you have what everyone likes, nobody likes a half-a** cocktail. I'm up to 42 unique bottles.

Doug, the vermouth should be in the fridge.
