Okay, so we really did move....finally. It happened suddenly and quickly when a really sweet rental apartment in our neighborhood opened up. So we found ourselves in the odd position of needing to buy furniture for ourselves for the first time in a LONG time. One of the things we needed was a seating around this great butcher block from IKEA...
Here are the posts we've compiled about our new home:

For Ursula we thought we'd need a high chair, but so far we don't. This amazing Metoo chair clips on to the butcher block and we throw it into the tub when she's done.

For the stool situation, first we went to our trusty BEST STOOLS FOR THE HOME post and Sara really liked the colorful French vintage industrial stools from DWR: The Marais Stool ($228). We liked it too, but then we remembered that we had a real dark horse, super comfortable stool on our list - one we'd found years ago: The Lyon Industrial Stool. Here's the link at C&H.

This baby only costs about $65 and came in a week. It has adjustable feet, is super heavy duty (but not heavy) and we're considering what color we want to paint it next so that we can jazz it up a little. If you are looking for counter stools and like the INDUSTRIAL look, we would really recommend looking at this solution (and the Metoo as well if you have kids).

The Metoo seat doesn't look very safe in the photo - seems very easy for a kid to tumble out head first.
Congratulations and good luck settling in.
We also used a metoo seat for both of our kids, and it is safer than it may appear! It has a safety belt and the clamps that attach it to the table edge really hold tight... we used it everywhere we had a sturdy enough surface, and we threw it in the tub too! Travels light as well because it basically squishes up flat. The apartment is great! Happy new home!
she is so kayute look at that little belly! that metoo seat looks like a great alternative to the bulky high chair. only drawback is that there is no tray so the table probably gets pretty messy.
That first pick looks like some kinda crazy magic trick.
Congrats on the new digs, you devils!!!
Enjoy your new home - how exciting for you! It's wonderful that you get to stay in the neighborhood you love.
mmm, i might have to get me that loverly industrial stool!
and hey, have fun making your home! it's cool you seem to be slowly but surely moving in - not rushrush to get everything done in one saturday ahaha. lucky!
The metoo seat is utterly fantastic. We have been using it since B was 6 months old and it has allowed him to sit right at the table with us for breakfast, lunch and dinner instead of a high chair off to the side (as it would need to be in our little place). Now he's a big giant 18 month old boy and it still holds him safely and securely.
I bet you won't need a high chair at all - a year from now, Ursula will probably be scrambling up and down from the Lyon stool on her own.
I will file that info away for when we redo our kitchen and need some barstools. I like the way it looks. Don't be surprised if someone starts pouring water and pushing Play-Do through the holes in the seat!
The downside to the metoo seat I see is that the table or whatever it is attached to would need to be weighty enough to counter balance the child's weight. Some of the fancy modern pedestal tables might not do it, that and the table top needs to be solidly attached to the base. Still a clever and fun solution.

The worst kept secret in the blogosphere!
Congrats!
I went on to the Phil & Ted's site and see that the metoo thingy is not available at this time. Boo.
I love the chairs. Loving the tummy too!
If you do paint the stools, can you post before-and-after pictures? Maybe even with an explanation as to how you go about doing it? (i.e. Can you paint on the stool directly, or do you need some sort of primer?)
Good luck with it all!
So exciting! Love the trickle of pics and can't wait to see more and what you do with the place!
hwtm: just google it - lots of places are carrying it.

congratulations on your new space -- but surely Ursula is decoration enough!
Congratulations on your new place!
I can't wait to see the kitchen reno!
It's nice to see the stool in a home setting. I've had plans to paint two of them yellow like the Marais stool.
Keep up the good work!
Yay it's official! Congratulations!
What a BEAUTIFUL child.
Congratulations!
Does that mean another housetour coming!? oooh I'm excited about that....
Yes, what's the best way to paint the stool (besides powder coating it)?
Never mind. I was about to buy it, but cancelled the order when I saw that shipping and handling cost more than the stool itself.
congratulations! i'm envious of the space and so happy for all of you. if you happen to need a tenant for your previous nest let me know, i can move in this weekend! (just kidding, well no, not really!)
Hooray! Even when Ursula outgrows the meetoo you can just get one of those Fisher Price booster seats for $25 or so that straps to a regular chair. I'm also waiting for more photos and the rest of the story!!! Congratulations on your new home.
Also...is that a washer I spy? OMG I am so jealous.
i definitely agree re: the booster seat. a high chair is so bulky and time flies, you really don't need anything but a booster chair for the next few years.
what a cute baby!
