When we first saw Tracy's bedroom in a dining nook, it reminded us of Tara's bedroom in a closet...
We love small, cozy, nest-like bedrooms, especially in the wintertime.

Another reason to go hunting for unusual layouts instead of settling for industrial cookie-cutter box studios: you might just find a nook you could slide a bed into! Boy I would love one of these.
Way Cute!!
When I was 18 I lived in a tiny studio apartment in St. Paul, MN, and I had to keep my bed in the kitchen/dining area of the apartment... We called it the Bitchen...because the bed was in the kitchen. ;)

Hey, I'm thinking of putting my bed in the kitchen. No nook or closet involved. Just in the kitchen by the sink.
I have good reasons. Really I do.
but isn't changing the sheets downright painful??
Oh yes )) I like this interior furniture too )) Where i coud buy this furniture and where?

We love your whole place. But where do you put your clothes?
I loved my bitchen when I had one... super fairytale cosy... nice dreams too (kitchen wee folk much nicer than bedroom spookies).
I had the same setup in my old SF studio. I got the best sleep, tucked away in my nest! These huge studio closets are all over San Francisco, the Tenderloin, Marina, Richmond, basically anywhere there's a '20s era apartment building.
i always wanted to do this when i was little. i shared a room with my sis but we had a good size walk in closet that would have fit a twin bed and a nightstand. mom wouldn't let me though.
I guess this only works if you sleep alone. Else, one person would have to climb over the other to get in or out.
Once I stayed with some friends for a few days they put the guest bed in the kitchen and I thought it was the coziest thing ever!

Ricky Gervais recently recounted a story from the days when him and his girlfriend lived in a tiny flat in a housing projects. They had shared washroom facilities two stories below. Gervais and his girlfriend put their bed in the kitchen between the fridge and the sink, and he admitted--on more than one occasion--to using the kitchen sink to relieve himself in the middle of the night, rather than hop two floors below.
kidmoe, the Ricky Gervais story is the first thing I thought of when I saw this!
love the clock too.
My Grandma had a bed in her kitchen that I use to nap on. I loved it there.
Tara here. My old bedroom/closet (recently moved to a place with a bedroom - yay!) was nice and warm and cozy. I put my clothes in some armoires in a hallway/nook area instead. The closet was BIG - that's a queen-sized bed - but changing the sheets was a HUGE pain. It was nice to shut the door and get some good, quality rest with no light/sound or intruding. Fortunately the closet/bedroom has really high ceilings and an air vent for circulation.
Oh, and you can see bits and bobs of my new place on my blog: cohabit8ing.blogspot.com
reminds me of harry potter who lived under the stairs lol.
Anyone know where the clock is from?
