Coast Modern: For West Coast Architecture Lovers

We remember the first time we walked inside a Richard Neutra designed building (it was his very own VDL Research Compound on Silver Lake Blvd): our heart rate jumped, our knees became weak and we knew right then and there we were experiencing architecture from both a visceral and intellectual level that wooed us from the first step inside. So it goes without saying we're excited about this upcoming documentary from filmmakers Michael Bernard and Gavin Froome about progression of the West Coast modernist movements, spanning from Neutra in "1920's Hollywood, through to the second wave of post WWII America to today's current modernist renaissance." Check out the trailer below...

The filmmakers have mentioned a Fall 2009 release as the goal. We'll announce any opening dates as we hear about it ourselves.
