They look like bamboo throwing stars, but the Zesch line by Dutch design studio Michiel Cornelissen Ontwerp serves a less nefarious function. Domestic ninjas can lay them out individually as coasters, or join them together into a trivet or just a really cool art piece.

The coasters are made from laser-cut bamboo sheets and have a proprietary interlocking shape that allows them to connect in a hexagonal grid. Especially useful for cramped kitchens — you can keep a stack on your shelf and make as small or as large of a surface as you need, when you need it.
