Laptop batteries can be pretty darn frustrating. When they aren't holding their charge, you'll try pretty much anything to make them hold on a little while longer. A recent post on Download Squad reminded us of our favorite free battery utility for Macs, Coconut Battery.
Most of us get interested in our batteries when we notice them, and that's usually when they are on their last leg. We downloaded Coconut Battery to give us the final confirmation that we needed to see that our battery was crap. It shows you details like the number of load cycles, how long you've had your battery, and it's current capacity. Now we use it to check up on how things are holding up, and it reminds us to try and take a little better care of our battery. Although, we're pretty much convinced that they have minds of their own. A recent check showed us that our current battery capacity is higher than when it came out of the box. Anyone know why?
