It's so exciting to see submissions roll in from international readers! Colin sent in these photos and told us a little bit about his home in Taipei...
He wrote: In Chinese countries, the cooking way is different from Western countries. Thus, the kitchen is often an enclosed space which not only makes cooking very lonely, but also makes the cooking very hot. So we hoped to create an open kitchen.
The home style inspiration is from our life experience, it doesn't belong to any style, just our style! We love our home very much.
Thanks, Colin!

Digging the clock in the kitchen. Nice find!
I love seeing how people in other countries live. It makes me grateful for little things like my big (by comparison) kitchen and that I have central AC. Love the polished concrete floors.
Such a fun home!
This is a perfectly lovely home, but there is absolutely NOTHING pictured here that hints at Taipei, a wonderfully vibrant and colorful city. I'm not sure I see the point of "exciting" international submissions that look like they could be from Anywhere, USA.
adding to comment by @JPPEDI - perhaps include a photo of a typical Taipei home/kitchen to get a better comparision of the design effort put in by the homeowner. I've lived in Asia and know how small living spaces can be.
I very much like the kitchen/dining area - great use of a small space.
