What is with this soft spot for organized clutter these days? This collaged wall is something right out of my brother's teenage playbook, yet it has a certain appeal...
Part of me thinks it's the onset of cooler weather. After all, those piled pillows and layered crocheted blankets do look warm. Summer for me = interiors that are spare, clean, white and blue. Winter sort of begs for hunkering down and gathering things nearer. Could this explain the recent clutter infatuation? Maybe it's my inner squirrel speaking.

i think of the collage wall as mixed media art more than clutter. it isn't just aimlessly left out, it has a purpose - to be seen and also brings visual interest, mood and a small amount of sound reduction.
I *love* it. When I was a teen, I covered my entire bedroom, floor to ceiling and wall to wall, with collaged images (art, fashion, and anything else that appealed to me aesthetically). It was kind of overwhelming, when it was finished, but I adored it.
I also had a similar collaged wall in my last office. I worked in a library, so it was done with cast-off book covers. It definitely made work more enjoyable for me.

It's so incredibly elaborate, and detailed. I love it, but I think it would drive me mental if I had to live in it everyday. It's such a beautiful photo too.
