Type: Vintage Dishes
Size: @ 50 pieces
Value: $250 - 300
On Thursday's I like to feature something done inside of someone's home, and this one is really about collecting. Cat Bishop is a reader from Asheville, North Carolina, who has sent in pics of her vintage dishware (mainly Bootonware Melmac and Dansk), all of which together form a stunning artistic composition. Here are her own words.

Description: I collect mismatched colorful vintage dishes, Bootonware melmac and Dansk pots. I buy any piece i love and most are solid retro colors. I live in a 1930's house and my kitchen has original open green glass shelving. Sometimes the dishes get assembled into my artwork (as seen in last pic) which is also created with vintage objects, i try not to let that happen :)
Thanks for looking..

Cat's collection is wonderful. I have a bit of an addiction to pyrex and all colourful cookware...and mirrors...and wade figurines, s & p shakers, quilts, vintage linens, winnie the pooh books, cat in the hat books, buttons, pressed glass goblets.. I could go on. She has some really interesting and fun works on her etsy site too.
Very attractive pieces and nicely displayed. Collections are a lot of fun to look at.
I love a good china collection. I have a few shelves of vintage Fireking that I'm quite proud of, though they're not worth a submission to the editors here IMO. But I have a lot of mugs, an almost complete anniversary milk glass set, and quite a few little porcelain tchotchkes (golliwogs, Scottish terriers and condiment containers.)
Thanks Cat, that was really fun to see. Love the assemblages.
Also loving the sailboats and Supermans.
