So, for those of you considering a bright, bold blue for your walls, we pulled a few examples from our archives that just might fit the bill:
• Kim & Scott's Happy "Yellow Brick Home" - Behr Distance
• Mark's Mid-Century Austin Abode - Benjamin Moore Surf Blue
• Artist John Guthrie's Heavenly Haven Benjamin Moore Splash
• Kirsten's Homework Assignment - Valspar Deep Turquoise
• Todd and J.R.'s Printer's Row Passages - Behr Porcelain Blue
All five of these come from House Tours that we published in 2010 - maybe turquoise really IS the color of the year...

I adore the "splash" kitchen! I will be painting my kitchen that color in my new rental.
I can recommend Behr Lagoon. We tried about 10 different samples before settling on that. It's a vibrant, deeper turquoise that looks fantastic against white and mustard yellow.
YES!!! Cant wait to get the Behr Porcelain Blue for my kitchen.
Not easy to get the right color. The amount of natural light and the exposure really make it a exercise in patience, as tequila red said 10 different samples.
My friend just completed his painting and it took about that many to find the right one- turned out great, his apartment would be a worth a cool small tour-

Cool. exactly what I need! Thank you!
Light does make a huge difference. I thought I wanted a medium-deep turquoise for my kids' room but it gets little sunlight and has original wood trim, and everything looked dreary. I ended up with Benjamin Moore In Your Eyes, much lighter than I envisioned but it's beautiful.
Had a similar issue as Lesley -- used a beautiful blue-green paint, however, the square footage of my little apartment was disappearing (visually) as I painted and I opted for a softer color.
It is also difficult to photograph turquoise walls so they accurately represent what's on the wall. So, the colors shown above may not look the same at your house because of lighting and photographic issues. Best to try the samples.
I painted my home office walls turquoise in 2001 and still love it.
turquoise is my favorite color! if i didn't rent (no painting allowed), i would totally have a room painted this color. i'm moving in a few days and will definitely be re-painting a table this color though! thank you for the idea suggestions!

I agree with b77, it IS really difficult to get the right shade of turquoise (and photographing it is even harder!). I initially went with a few different turquoises/teals from Benjamin Moore, but one of my main problems it that the trim in my house isn't a pure white, it's more of a "sand" color (painted by the previous owner). Changing it isn't really an option because it would require not only painting all our woodwork, but also several built-ins and plantation shutters. Every Benjamin Moore color I tried simply looked too "bright" next to the trim.
I ended up with Behr Realm. I will say that Benjamin Moore paint goes on so much easier, but Realm is finally the color that worked for me. It's just a beautiful deep turquoise. I couldn't be happier with it.

@stevie, that is a GORGEOUS room! you should seriously submit for a house tour. i'd love to see more of your place.
@stevie, that is a beautiful choice. Teal is tough! My husband and I almost got a divorce trying to select a perfect teal for our restaurant called Tacolicious in San Francisco. I wanted something super bright and bold and in the end, the huge wall we painted just couldn't take it. And we had to go with a mellower teal. I'll have to get the name of the Ben Moore color we went with because it's great. http://tacolicioussf.com/page/7
Love the color!!! Sadly, I haven't figured out a good wall for it in our house, although as an accent you can find it all over!
i think it would be a great idea if AT always asked apt. tour people to list their paint colors (if they know them). inevitably, everyone always asks, "what color?"
I stenciled the bottom half of my kitchen with an awesome turquoise, and I couldn't be happier.
Check it out here!

I love the color, and your cute dog!!
I second Tequila Red's comment--I used Behr Lagoon in my bathroom, and it is gorgeous! It's an inky teal color, bordering on peacock, and everyone who sees it loves it!
I painted one wall in my living room Behr Peacock Feather.
It's a really lovely, vibrant color.

Valspar's La Fonda Teal, I use it in my dining room and depending on the light, it can go turquoise or teal but I've gotten some nice compliments.
Did my foyer in "Bahaman Sea Blue" - Benjamin Moore, 2055-40. Trim is "White Opulence" - BM, 879. It's delicious, and I find I'm always drawn to it. I could be sitting on sofa watching the TV but keep looking back at the foyer, :)

I'm late on this post, but it's for anyone who constantly does keyword searches on this site like I do!
I just painted my bedroom Benjamin Moore's River Blue. It looks a lot like the shade in Stevie's post from May 24. I highly recommend trying a sample if you're looking for a dark, rich teal -- very peacock-like with the abundance of green in it.
I'm so glad I paid for the 7 different tester tubs to find the right shade!
