Color Chips: Maui

Color and sunlight, both super strong, defined our beach vacation. The swimsuits, cabanas and towels are designed to (try and) compete with the unbelievable saturation of the natural colors. The ocean rules all tourist activity, from "surf school" and snorkeling to sashimi for dinner. We're happy to be home, but must admit that Chicago seems like a b&w photo this week in comparison.

I was just in Maui this February and took a surfing lesson from Goofy Foot Surfing School in Lahaina. The guy in the surf school picture looks vaguely like the same instructor I had.
