We recently shared our love for brightly painted accent walls. However, we know how hard it can be for some people to take that jump. Fortunately, there is an easier way to add bold color without making a trip to the paint store. Since we have been all about orange lately, we wanted to share some great accessories to add a kick to any room.

This post brings me pure joy! Orange is my favorite color!!! Thanks AT for making my day!!!
Gorgeous! That shade of orange is so vibrant and I love the green chair...lovely space.
oh that staircase is lovely. although at second glance it looks like some sort of inverted creamsicle. still, lovely.
I used to shy away from orange, but I painted one wall in my kitchen orange, and it really helps make the room cheerful and bright.
LOVE orange! It will have a prominent spot in my cure/realign!!
I like orange in small doses. I've seen great rooms with lots of orange-- I know there was a San Fran house tour w/ an orange kit that looked great-- but I don't think I could live with it for long periods.
I do love orange in the Fall though! I'm an Autumn fanatic so I love all the fall colors.
I was at Home Goods yesterday and they had some awesome orange lamps (and other colors). I took a pic with my phone, they are brighter in person. http://www.flickr.com/photos/73181201@N00/4443845830/
Absolutely love the orange stripe running along the stairs. It totally makes the space pop.
I'm going to use orange in the boys room (6,4 & 2). Glad it's still in designers' radar. Makes it more affordable, hehe.
I agree that it's a wonderful color in smallish amounts. Those stairs are a gem. We use it in the living room with chocolate brown and teal (and our beige couch and beige carpets and beige walls...we need COLOR!).
In 1973 or 74, my mom painted my room yellow, put yellow, orange, and green flowered wallpaper on one wall, put in an orange carpet, hung orange corduroy curtains, and threw down a matching orange corduroy bedspread. My furniture was painted white (thank god), except the wall-mounted bookshelves and wooden kids' chair, which were also orange. All bright colours, not those "earthy" '70s tones.
I dunno, maybe I'm still suffering from orange and yellow overload, but I have zero orange in my apartment now, and I can't think of any yellow except a bit in some multi-coloured cushion covers my grandma knitted for me, and the bananas on the kitchen counter. ;) I went the opposite route with greens and blues and a smattering of purple. My MOM on the other hand, has a place loaded with orange and yellow! I think, though, that I was really lucky to be a little girl before the horrible trend of decorating every other little girl's room in pink became so popular.
I have recently become obsessed with the home reno blog Brick City Love. She uses orange as an accent color in her romantic modern-meets-traditional bedroom. It's so unexpected and totally beautiful. I never would have thought to combine bright orange pillows with such a traditional headboard, but it looks great! Plus, she painted her radiator bright orange. How awesome is that?

I tried to decorate with orange...but it didn't turn out so well :(

Pops of bright orange are such a nice change of pace from the usual red that I tend to use. Thanks for the great story! Now I have plenty of ideas to revamp my home.
A few months ago I painted my kitchen orange, and I love it. Granted, it's a TINY kitchen and most of the wall space is taken up by cabinets (which stayed white), so although it's the wall color I don't feel that it overwhelms the room.
My fiancee LOVES orange and tries to decorate with it each times he finds a chance. Thanks to him, now I'm near to hating orange after seeing so much of it. :( Our whole library room is orange now thank to him and I can concentrate.
Our family room is orange with white trim. Sort of a wheat color berber carpeting and IKEA royal blue and white curtains. Blue IKEA futon. Strong royal blue and white look great with orange!
When I lived in a 60's house I painted the long, dark hallway orange. Perfect with the pink kitchen and bath :)
